With less than 2 weeks to go until the big day I’m going to guess most of you out there are already done with the Christmas shopping (Like me :P). So you’ll be able to chill out on the sofa enjoying Christmas movies and the occasional mince pie while the rest of the country in running around like headless chickens trying to get themselves sorted. Well done on being so organised. For those of you who still have a lot of presents to buy, get moving! To help I thought I would give you some ideas for the perfect Christmas gift for someone on your list!
Although when lifting heavy weight or going for a run you can pretty much wear whatever you want. However comfort is pretty important. Nike are certainly one of the better brands when it comes to sports and fitness wear. Very comfy and lightweight. Nike are great, then are great for gym wear as well as running. However, Nike do tend to be a little on the pricey side. A great investment because the clothes do last a while.
lululemon is one of our favourite clothing brands and we just love their stuff so I’m sure you will too! Have a look below at some of our tops picks for you…
Where to start with trainers? If you’re looking for a running trainer you would be better off going to running shop rather than somewhere like JD Sports. They are more fashion trainers and could cause injury if the shoe isn’t right for you. There is one Teddington called The Sweat Shop. They will be able to advise on what the best shoe is for the individual. However Asics are a great make of running trainer. If you would rather just go off the shelf then I would recommend Asics.
If you’re looking for a gym shoe perhaps not going to be doing quite so much running then the options are a little more flexible. My advice there is to go into a store to try them on, that way your know exactly what will fit.
Personally my favourite thing to take to the gym. One its blocks out all the excess noise allowing you to focus on your workout. Sometimes there’s a lot to get through and time is precious.
The second is is pretty obvious… something listen to. Listen to want you want in your own world, motivating yourself and taking your mind off what you’re doing. Just be careful when doing cardio out on the roads. Especially this time of year. I have just invested in a pair of Dre Beats, in sounds quality is amazing, great at blocking out noise around you.
For a lot of people knowing their stats is a great motivator. Pushing themselves further or faster each time they go. So to help with that there are some great fitness gadgets on the market, a personal favourite of mine is the Fitbit. This tracks steps allowing you to set goals making sure you hit your target. They also track your calories and see how many you have burnt in a day. That way you know who many you need to put back in your body. They also monitor heart rate this is great if you’re looking to work in a certain range or if you’re a bit worried about overdoing it.
There are lots of other gadgets out there but like i said Fitbit is my personal favourite. They have a huge range on the market. The new charge HR looks very nice. I must admit I am a fan of the Surge. Especially in blue.
A lot of the stuff we have spoken about has been exercise based. Its great to get out there and do it. If you’re not eating right the battle becomes a lot harder.
A cookbook I use a lot is a book by a guy called Kevin Curry a guy from America. Here is a link to his book.
I also like Jamie’s Everyday Super Food cook book!
I hope this has inspired you, and helped with the Christmas list. Let u know how you got on. Have a great Christmas. 🙂
